I have had the wonderful gift of working with preschool children for nearly 20 years. Helping ignite that spark in children to ask questions, figure things out and explore is one of the best feelings I’ve ever had.
Our main intent throughout the year will be preparing your child for Kindergarten, which of course, is more than just 123s and ABCs. It’s exploring our world and community. It’s how to be considerate of our friends and celebrate our differences and recognize our similarities. It’s having FUN, which is how learning should always be!
Emily Schwarzenberger
Hello, my name is Emily Schwarzenberger. I am a mom of 3 great kids, who showed me my passion for teaching and playing with preschool age kids!
I have been teaching preschool in Bend over the last 10 years.
My major in art helps me be creative with our preschoolers! I love watching them learn through play and art, and am always amazed by the individual progress they make throughout the year.
It is a true blessing to spend my time loving on the most fun members of our community, your kids!
In my free time, I enjoy photography and watching my teenagers play sports. Having tea parties with my youngest and fly fishing with my husband. Our family loves taking road trips together, and having teenagers, we are always trying to make those special memories while we can.

My name is Karen, and I have over 20 years of teaching experience in early childhood education. I have a passion for helping children with disabilities and various learning styles. I believe every child is a gift, an individual, and a blessing to our community.
In addition to early childhood education, I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in music and am a local performer.
I love spending time with my family. I have a son, a foster parent, and am also a doggie mom.
