About our classes
18:3 Child-to-Teacher Ratio
For many children, preschool is their very first group experience — and we believe that beginning should feel safe, joyful, and confidence-building.
At Pumpkin Patch Preschool in Bend, Oregon, we focus on creating a positive foundation for many successful school years ahead. Kindergarten readiness is woven naturally into our days through songs, games, hands-on activities, and playful practice with letters and numbers.
We help children learn how to:
Line up and follow directions
Listen during appropriate times
Build independence and confidence
Practice kindness and compassion toward friends
Learning Through Play
Our classroom is creative and hands-on. Children explore paint, markers, glue, and even scissors while creating artwork to proudly share at home.
Science and math come alive through play-based learning, simple experiments, cooking activities, and curiosity-driven discovery. We believe children learn best when they are engaged, moving, and having fun.
A Positive Guidance Approach
We do not use traditional discipline methods. Instead, we focus on safety, redirection, and helping children learn to regulate their emotions. Conflicts and mistakes are viewed as valuable learning opportunities — helping children build empathy, communication skills, and resilience.
Rooted in Our Bend Community
We love connecting our students to the Bend community through 2–3 field trips each year to local favorites like:
The Deschutes Recycling Center
Knott Landfill
Local Restaurants/ family owned business’
These experiences help children see how their world works — right here in Central Oregon!
Most of all, we create a warm, happy environment where children feel known, valued, and excited to come to school. We are proud to be one of Bend’s most affordable preschool enrichment programs while still providing a rich, nurturing experience.
